Welcome to MyWaggyTails

MyWaggyTails is licensed by RCT Borough Council (Licence Number: 440473), and is a fully insured professional pet-care business. We are THE Pet Care choice for loving owners and their discerning pets.

We provide ‘home from home’ doggy day care, sleepovers, pet pop-ins, pet sitting and dog walking services helping 4 and 2 legged customers around the communities of Beddau, Church Village, Creigiau, Efail Isaf, Llantrisant Town, Llantwit Fardre, Miskin, Pontyclun, Pontypridd, Rhondda, Talbot Green, Tonteg, Tyn-y-nant, Upper Church Village.

Pet Care

At MyWaggyTails our pet experiences are beautifully designed, pawtastically caring and pet centric.

We just happen to work with dogs from our home and pets in your home. Of course, every pet is different. Each pet has its own foibles and personality. Really understanding your pet is key to providing Tender Loving Care.

Sadly, the constraints of being a small business, means we have to focus on what we do best, and in our home that’s tailoring great experiences to socially well-adjusted doggies, who are good on and off lead, who play nicely with other dogs as well as with humans, and who love the blend of experiences we provide, each designed to bring out the inner dog.

Doggies come stay as members of our family. Not surprisingly we only have limited availability, but every 4-legged friend is given a warm welcome and a happy stay. Of course, your pet will miss you, but we’ll do our best to temporarily fill the gap and keep you updated with photos and videos whenever the opportunity allows.

Home Boarding & Home Day Care with MyWaggyTails services

MyWaggyTails South Wales is licensed by our local authority, RCTCBC to provide dog boarding and day care services – our licence number is: 447001

(Being licensed to provide boarding and day care services is a legal requirement and it is a criminal offence to provide such services and not to have a licence.)

We have £5m public liability insurance and a Disclosure and Barring Service certificate (formerly a CRB) check.

We are trained in Canine First Aid with Ofqual certificates in Dog Walking, Dog Boarding & Day Care.

You’re very welcome to ask to see any of these related documents at any time.

How we operate and key considerations

In order for your dog to stay with us, and as a RCTCBC licensing condition your dog(s) must be:

  • Medically and behaviourally suitable
  • Up to date with its vaccinations (Leptospirosis, Adenovirus, Parvovirus and Canine Distemper) – typically appears as ‘DPH’ and ‘L2/L4’ or ‘Lepto 2/Lepto 4’ on your pet’s vaccination certificate.
  • A current Kennel Cough vaccination (lasts 1 year) – typically appears as ‘KC’ on your pet’s certificate, and receiving a current vet issued flea, tick and worming treatment
  • Well socialised with other dogs and humans
  • Able to get on with my own dog – a very friendly flat-coated retriever
  • Fully house trained
  • Microchipped and with the microchip registered to your current home address
  • Wearing an ID tag on either your dog’s collar or harness
  • Have good recall and be able to walk off-lead. An initial bonding, familiarisation and on-lead trial will take place before free-running is permitted.
  • Familiar with sleeping downstairs

You will also need to provide fully up-to date medical and behavioural information about your pet.

  • A ‘meet and greet’ will be provided for dogs and owners prior to boarding or day care services.
  • An overnight or day trial subject to your required service must be completed well in advance and before your booking is confirmed to ensure the comfort of your pet, your peace of mind as well as that of your pet carer.
  • As the pet owner you will be required to provide your full name, address, telephone number and emergency contact details prior your pet’s stay.
  • As the pet owner you will be required to review and accept our Terms & Conditions and pet consent forms, and any relevant paperwork including providing updates or changes regarding your pet’s health and/or behaviour prior to your pet’s stay.
  • Please be advised that any requested dates are only provisional until the required booking fee has been received by us.
  • For clarity, pre-payment in full is required for all services.
  • All dogs will be familiarised and introduced prior to boarding
  • A trial walk, and/or a ‘meet and greet’ needs to be completed prior to a full-service trial.
  • No in season dogs are accepted. Any dog coming into season whilst staying with us needs to be removed by your emergency contact within two hours of being notified by us or we will be required to place your dog into kennels at your additional expense. For the avoidance of doubt, the fees for the complete booked period are still payable in full and no refund will arise in such circumstances.
  • Any dog biting or displaying aggression to me, my family, a member of the public, or any other dog is not accepted. The pet owner or emergency contact of any dog behaving in an inappropriate manner whilst staying with us will be contacted and asked to remove their pet within two hours of being notified or your dog will be placed into kennels at your additional expense. For the avoidance of doubt, no refund will arise in such circumstances.
  • You will be liable for costs arising for any damage or breakages to any contents of property directly caused by your pet’s stay. It’s our family home and we require it treated with respect.
  • Exercise and enrichment – typically this takes place across open countryside, beaches and woodland – all within a small walk or van ride of my home. I have a large garden for play and enrichment. Exercise and enrichment requirements are discussed and planned with each owner to ensure your pet receives the best quality experience whilst in our care.

 Planning

  • Drop offs take place by arrangement between 7.45am and 8.30am or 12.30-2.30pm.
  • A dog may be collected by arrangement between 7.45am and 8.30am, 12.30-2.30pm or 5.30-6.15pm
  • A pet owner using our service is required to provide – suitable, clean, flea free bedding, feed and details, toys, chews, walking equipment ie collar, tags, harness and lead, and any required medication.
  • As the Pet Owner you are required to provide written details of any exercise restrictions for your pet prior to their stay.
  • Dogs unable to be walked for age or medical reasons will receive enrichment and human interaction in our home setting.
  • Our own ID tags will also be provided to each guest dog with our contact details as an added safety tool.

Dog Walking in South Wales

Every-day dog walking experiences
Group walks for happy dogs

If you are looking for dog walking services around Beddau, Church Village, Creigiau, Cross Inn, Efail Isaf, Llantrisant, Llantwit Fardre, Miskin, Pontyclun, Talbot Green, Tonteg, Tynant and Upper Church Village availability permitting we’re very happy to help.

MyWaggyTails South Wales provides both one-hour and adventure group walks in local beauty spots, riversides and beaches that your dog will love.

We offer a mixed blend of walks that includes training, play and sensory experiences. Group walks have multiple benefits: helping with socialisation, instilling good behaviour and increasing exercise.

We walk dogs off leash, subject to your consent, the environment that day, your pet’s recall and group dynamics.

Every dog wears a MyWaggyTails identity tag in addition to their own. We regret that we can only accept dogs that are microchipped. For ‘escapologist’ dogs, dogs with poor recall, where they are pre-notified in our Pet Information Form, we are happy to use your pet’s GPS tracker.

My dog van carries a pet first aid kit, water, bowls and even towels for those wet days. Naturally, we are fully insured, and dog first aid trained.

Specialist Dog Walks
Puppy/Older/Poorly/Solo Walks

Where shorter walks are the order of the day because youth or aching limbs dictate, again, we have certain walks specifically dedicated for such profiles.

Adventure Hikes, South Wales
Dog walks with a difference

For doggies with more stamina, we offer adventure hikes. Our outings allow your fur-baby to socialise and relish being part of a regular peer group, whilst having fun and burning off tons of excess energy.

Adventures Unleashed – Our off-leash adventures last around 3 hours, during which your pup will enjoy about 2=2.5 hours of fun exercise in some of South Wales best dog-friendly off-leash spots. Your doggy will socialise and play to their heart’s delight – so you’ll come home to a satisfied and happy dog. Every single time.

Pet Pop-Ins, South Wales

Home Pet Care

Our ‘Pet Nanny’ (me!) will pop into your home as often as you require, throughout the day.   I will ensure your pets are cared for and if required, feed them too.  This can be a great stress-free alternative to a cattery or other boarding options.

My Home Visits provide in-home pet care for a wide range of pets from dogs and cats to hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and fish.

Home visits are ideal for puppies, post-op, and older dogs too.

While focused on your pet, a home visit can include in-home domestics, such as watering plants, taking in post, turning on lights and closing curtains.  All designed to keep your home safe and secure too.

Puppy Visits, South Wales

Wait… you have a puppy? How exciting! Is your puppy still too young to join group walks? Even puppy-only walks? If you work during the day we can visit and ensure your puppy gets a toilet break, feeding and some engaging company.

Pawtastic services from doting doggy experts.

About MyWaggyTails South Wales

Randle
MyWaggyTails South Wales

Meet Randle, pet minder-in-chief

Hello and welcome to MyWaggyTails South Wales.

At MyWaggyTails, we create diverse experiences for well-balanced, enriched and happy pets.

We don’t believe in one off customers. We aim for long-term relationships that come through trust and a homely familiar experience for your pet.

It all begins with our Pet Information Form, followed by the initial ‘meet and greet’ assessment. Chemistry is very important, and it has to work both ways. We like to really understand every pet in our care.

And then we create memorable moments for your pet.

A MyWaggyTails experience is based around exercise & enrichment, pampering & play, care and love. We love to see dogs dragging their paying partners to our door and being warmly greeted by your pet.

Life out and about

Some walks are meanderings like our ‘Sniffari’ – the slow stroll with lots of sniffing, letting your pet see the world through their noses.  Sniffing a blade of grass, a tree stump, a lamp post or a tree is like reading the personal columns of a doggy magazine. They find out who’s in town, what’s happening in the neighbourhood and they love to send pMail to all their friends.

Other times it’s a sensory schlep through diverse vegetation, or brisk exercise with plenty of play and hide and seek, other times it’s leafy glens, perhaps an adventure walk, woodland or moorland, streams or rivers, beaches and the sea. All creating sights, smells and sounds to stimulate the senses.

Life around the home

At our home, the experience starts with a safe, secure garden. There are orthopaedic beds, elevated platforms, quiet corners and nests, sofas and hammocks with toys a plenty.

For the posh pet, we even have a pet ‘Chaise Longue’.

And for those muddy days or where some unmentionable poo was just too attractive, we have a walk-in shower, followed by some basic grooming, a doggy hair dryer, a gentle brush, comb and tick check followed by a soft massage and a tummy tickle.

When your pet stirs from their slumbers, we have enrichment activities and toys aplenty including sensory and mind games, footballs, snuffle pads, giant kongs agility poles and an agility tunnel.

Happy hound and time for another cwtch.
